Vinyl Siding Around Electric Meter

I was just stuck on the fact of it was a code violation if i put the new meter base in the recessed vinyl siding. I d call a few electricians ask around for recommendations and see what they have to say. Removing the siding will leave a gap between the meter and the wall that means the pvc conduit will have to be bent in order to get the meter box flush with the original wall.
